Amazing Ecuador. The land of two seasons. The dry, brings an autumn like vista to the low lying terrains. In the wet, both high and low altitudes, burst forth in vibrant verdant colour. We traveled to the National Park of Machalilla, through the dry Fall forests of the low lands, then at the right altitude, we found ourselves in rainforest.
The beach at Machalilla, remote and beautiful, had a strong undertow. I stood for a while, where the waves broke, holding Grahams hand. But the Pacific was too strong for me, so I watched as a braver soul enjoyed the surf.
Next we visited an indigenous settlement, their bamboo houses built on poles; protection from the rainy season flooding. Around the village pigs and goats foraged. A dribble in the river bed provided, sustenance for the local vultures, as well as the residence. We admired their small museum and purchased the items their hand crafted items. Their ancient way of living, has barely changed over the millennia.
Lunch was served at a modern hotel, a twenty minute ride away. The view over rainforest and ocean was awesome.
Things to spot in the video: a termite mound in the a tree, pelicans formation flying, two owls in the tree canopy, an orchid growing in a tree.
I’ve not been to Ecuador. Great photos.

It’s worth a visit. A thriving democracy, and a stable economy. They have the US dollar. Glad you enjoyed the photos.
