‘There is a chink of light that illuminates the space between all our yesterdays, and today. I seek this spark to bring into being, a story. Through research and endeavor, the light of lives long gone, glimmer once more upon the page. My history becomes your story.’
Margaret, an IT Consultant, loves living in Bath U.K. with her husband Graham Woodhouse. She derives her joie de vivre playing with her grandsons, researching family history, writing and traveling.
Her first book, Mizpah Cousins, is a true story of life of love and peril during the Great War era. It portrays lives of working-class people, flung into the maelstrom of war as Magaret’s German Anglo family find themselves on opposing sides of the conflict. Stories from London, Versailles and cities in German, reveal a unique insight into this period of history. Letters and cards from the front line hint at the horrors witnessed there. But it is also a story of hope, love and endeavor that will stay with you long after the last page is read.
Margaret’s second book, Betweenwhiles: A family between two wars — a true story of rebellion against Nazism is currently available to pre-order from Amazon. Publish date 10th March 2018
