Cruising the Dardanelles to Istanbul

Here we sit sipping local beer, aromatic with hookah smoke. Overlooking the Golden Horn inlet of the Bospherios that intersects Istanbul,Asia and Europe. To the left in Europe, golden minarets echo to the haunting call to prayer. over the ferry chopped water wafts music,a descent violin:a man is fishing from the dock. Istanbul is truly remarkable, beautiful and friendly.
This morning we cruised the Galipolli peninsula, soaked in history sacrifice and bravery. We listen to stories of 100 years ago and feel grateful for the freedom we take for granted. They will never grow old,the young Anzacs, British Empire and Turkish soldiers, a privilege we must cherish.
