Book review. A true story from Nazi Germany

Dear friends, I am honoured to introduce you,

The Investigation: A true story from Nazi Germany, set in the 1930’s.

The book chronicles a German Jewish family, through the trauma of Hitler’s rise to power. Being a true story, this is an important book to read.
I first heard of Torkel S Wächter (author), while researching his father, Walter, on Google. Walter Wächter and my Uncle, Emil Heitmann, were arrested and served time together. Their crime – rebelling against Nazism. When I translated my Uncles memoir, Emil mentioned his friend, Walter Wächter.
I found Torkel S Wächter’s book, enriching to read. It gave insight into my family’s journey during this time of horror.
I had the honour of meeting Torkel, in 2017 in Hamburg.

The Amazon Overview

On January 30 1933, a German-Jewish civil servant is sitting at his desk at the Baumeisterstrasse Tax Office, in central Hamburg. He has just signed a number of documents and is looking out of the window when one of his staff rushes into the room without knocking and announces that Adolf Hitler has just been appointed Chancellor of Germany.

I highly recommend this book to you as true insight into our recent history. Lest we forget.

If you have read this book, let me know what you thought.

Read, and the wisdom of the world will open to you.
