On our last evening in Inverness we Walked up to the Castle, which is now the local council offices.

It was visited by Bonny Prince Charlie in 1746.

Walking down from the castle, we had wonderful views of the sunset.

We decided to pop into The Royal Highland Hotel for tea. The sumptuous foyer offered a perfect setting and a very large pot of tea.

Before boarding the overnight train back to London, we strolled along the River Ness bedecked in lights.
